On Monday, October 9th, the marching band and color guard headed to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco for their first-ever try at winning first place and $10,000 in the elusive Fleet Week High School Band Challenge hosted by The United States Marine Corps 1st Marine Division Band and sponsored by Loop Neighborhood Markets. With a stellar set of tunes, some killer rapping, and dance moves, the band defeated the defending champions, Pittsburg High School winning $10,000 for the program.
During the event, spectators were treated to performances by The United States Marine Corps 1st Marine Division Band and the Concord, Pittsburg, Santa Teresa, and Ann Sobrato High School Bands. It was a very special day with an insane amount of talent on display. Are we going back next year for a repeat performance? Only time will tell!
