Instructor: Martin Lejano, Director of Instrumental Music
Guitar: Beginning guitar is a course open to students in grades 9-12. Students will learn basic comprehensive skills and applications that relate to the overall concepts of guitar technique, performance, responsiveness, and discrimination. They will address criteria for critically judging the quality of performances and compositions that derive from social and historical influence. Work outside of class involves project preparation, written assignments, and exploration of school-to-career possibilities.
Eligibility: Grades 9-12
CHS Requirements: This course is worth 10 units (5 per semester) *Fulfills one year of elective requirements .
College Track: This course fulfills the one-year Fine Arts requirements and the UC/CSU “F” requirement.
