About CHS Boosters

Our Mission

The Concord High Band Boosters mission is to support and promote instrumental music at Concord High School in Concord, California.

The Band Boosters provide extensive support and guidance through fundraising, transportation, logistics support, equipment purchases and maintenance, clinicians, chaperoning, and much, much, more.

The instrumental music program is comprised of many excellent performing groups under the direction of Gary Coartney. Each year the School District provides $1000 for the overall instrumental music program, but, the true cost of the program is significantly greater. This huge funding gap is completely covered by the Concord High Band Booster Organization.

$1000 for 5 music classes = ONLY $200.00 per class for instrumental music. $1000 divided by the number of students in the program = The Program Budget per student for the entire year. With an estimate of 125 music students in the program, the Program Budget for each student = ONLY $8 for the entire year.

Continuing support from parents and community is necessary for the survival of the Concord High School Music Program.
